Social Security Administration - Rude and Hostile Customer Service
I called last week to get an appointment to set an appointment to apply for SSI. After waiting on line for 55 minutes I finally got someone to answer.
I told the person that answered the call that I have terminal cancer and would like to apply for SSI. After answering so many questions I was told that the local office would call me to set up an appointment, and if they don't call to call back. Of course as I expected the local office never called, so I called back. This time I was waiting on hold for one hour.
Finally a person answered the phone, this person was the rudest and meanest person I have ever spoken to. She would not let me speak or try to explain anything, she was rude and abrupt. She demanded I answer some security questions, which I did. Then she said my answers are incorrect, I asked what answers are incorrect and before I could complete my sentence she hung up on me.
I think Social Security Customer Service is disgraceful and whoever is in charge of it should be ashamed of him or herself, this is no way to treat people especially in need of critical assistance . The system is designed to discourage people from applying, it's all about keeping our earned benefits in their pocket.
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
Social Security Administration Cons: Terrible people at cussomer service, Very rude, Lack of accountability, Rude customer service by phone, Incompetent agents.
